It was Trey Canard who led the first part of lap one, before falling and handing it over to Christophe Pourcel. That's about all the Frenchman needed to run away for an uncontested win as the pack sorted itself out behind them. There was a lot of great racing going on back there, with Brett Metcalfe, Tommy Searle, Blake Wharton and - early on - Justin Barcia pushing the pace hard. Barcia crashed fairly hard early in lap one, then Wharton fell over in a corner all the while Dungey was moving thru.
